Bruscia (2014)

believes that everyone is

capable of creating music, so the music experienced by each person engaged in creation or re-creation is unique and original.

This process also encourages exploring the meaning, beauty, and human relationships inherent

in the creative process and

the world of sound.

Open to everyone,
No Music Background Needed !

Rather than emphasizing musical performance, music therapists use music as a medium for communication and plan music interventions  tailored to clients’ needs.

Therefore, participants in music therapy do not require any special musical skills, knowledge, or background. The following are suitable recipients of music therapy, but not limited to:

Premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit

Children with developmental delays

People with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Students with special educational needs (SEN)

People with emotional needs e.g.  anxiety, depression, or PTSD

Individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities

Patients  with  chronic or terminal illnesses, such as cancer

People with Parkinson’s disease

Older adults with Alzheimer's disease or other cognitive impairments

People in the rehabilitation centers

People in drug rehabilitation

Prisoners

Terminally ill patients

Music therapy services do not necessarily require a doctor’s referral or recommendation. Anyone experiencing emotional distress or in need can directly contact a music therapist for consultation and assessment.

Everyone deserves
to be understood and supported

— Taking the initiative
to seek help is the first step in caring for yourself or
those around you.
